The Volunteer State Community College music department will be showcasing its Spring production April 25 and 26 at 7:45 p.m. in the Richard Moore Gymnasium.
The performance will feature Showstoppers, Commercial Music Ensemble and Vol State music students.
James Story, associate professor of music, said there will be $5 suggested donation.
There will also be a $5 CD of original material written and performed by Vol State music students.
All proceeds will go to the music department scholarship fund.
The show will be about an hour and half, said Story.
"There will be [about] forty students involved in the showcase," said Story.
"[The goal of the showcase] is to provide performance opportunities for the music department and allow for more confidence in the singing, dancing and producing," Story said.
There will be a variety of music including, pop, rock, swing, Latino, Broadway and others, he said.
The CD is just as diverse in its music offering.
Dustin Franking, a student at Vol State and performer in the showcase said, music is the only thing that keeps him "sane."
Franking, said his song "Smile" that he wrote will be performed at the show.
Michael McDougald, another performer, enjoys challenging music which is what this performance will offer, he said.
"I sing to eliminate stress and get myself out of my normal routine," said McDougald.
Alissa Klein sings "Until the Sun" on the CD.
"I love music's innocence. It brings people together," said Klein.
"It can describe and applies to different senses and scenarios and so many different things with music," she added.
