"I think students are going to enjoy this new space," said Nimmo. "It is definitely more pleasant to work in here."
"I think the studio is awesome," said Vol State student and WVCP DJ Jeremy Neighbours. "I heard this one is more spacious than the older one."
Nimmo also said that although the tornado destroyed the previous studio, WVCP continued to work, but without students.
"We spent a year without practicum students because we only had a temporary classroom," said Nimmo. "Everything was done in one room and all the material was recorded from a computer."
In spring 2007, WVCP moved its station to the Ramer building. It was located in what is now the production studio, Nimmo said.
"[Espravnik] worked really hard and spent many hours in the warehouse figuring out what was usable for the studio," Nimmo said.
When asked about the new features of the radio station, Espravnik said the studio has a better sound proofing than the old one. In other words, there is a better sound quality, Espravnik explained.
Another important feature is that the studio has a bigger space for teaching, he said.
"I think that the most important feature of all is that we have a home again," Espravnik said.
