SGA Senior Senator and member of the Election Commission Shane Burks oversees the voting booth while students Joshua Hutchison and Andrew Hoffman cast their ballots in last week's SGA elections.

Lindsey Overhalser will serve as President of the Student Government Association for the 2008-09 school year.

Coordinator of Student Activities Gina Garera announced that Overhalser, who ran unopposed, was the winner of last week's election at Wednesday's Student Leadership Luncheon.

"I'm excited to see what the SGA can do for the student body as a whole next year," said Overhalser.

Ann West, director of institutional research, said that the official vote count will be unavailable until sometime this week.

Also on the ballots were questions regarding the current drop policy and the possibility of the implementation of a plus/minus grading system.

The results of the additional questions have also yet to be tallied, said West.
