Annual Nashville Film Festival begins in April

The 39th annual Nashville Film Festival will take place April 17-24 at the Regal Green Hills Stadium 16.
According to Nashville Film Festival.com, the festival was founded in 1969 as the Sinking Creek Film Celebration and one of the longest-running film festivals in the country.
In 1998, the festival became known as the Nashville Independent Film Festival, and then the Nashville Film Festival in 2003.
In 2007 more than 20,000 people attended the festival and saw over 240 films from 44 countries.
The festival has also been voted by Movie Maker Magazine as one of the "20 film festivals worth the entry fee."
NaFF has also seen its fair share of celebrities.
According to the Nashville Scene, Matchbox 20's Rob Thomas helped host the event along with actress Namrata Singh Gujral.
According to the Tennessean, Vincent D'Onofrio and Oscar-winning actress Patricia Neal, who will receive the Nashville Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award, will be in attendance.
On opening night, movie goers can see "The Deal" starting at 7 p.m.
The film stars William H. Macy as a Hollywood director who is trying to revive his career by casting an action star in a film about 19th-century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli.
On closing night, "The Wrecking Crew" will start at 7 p.m.
The film looks at the famed group of session musicians who backed nearly all hits made in Los Angeles in the 60's. In attendance will be Denny Tedesco and members of the Wrecking Crew.
Some other films that will be shown include The Assassin, The Colors of Memory, Eden Court, and Phantom Love.
Regular ticket prices at onsite NaFF box office will be $11.
