March Madness

It's that time of year again and March Madness has returned.
This year, there are some really good teams playing in the tournament and there are plenty of local teams for Tennessee sports fan to get behind as well.
The highest seeded team from the area is the Tennessee Volunteers, which are seeded number two in the East region.
The Vols got a bad break being put in the same region as the overall number one seed North Carolina.
The Vanderbilt Commodores are in the mix too. They are the number four seed in the Midwest region.
They could of been a higher seed but lost some games toward the end of the season. Then there is the Belmont Bruins. They play perennial powerhouse Duke in the first round and that is as far as they will go in the tournament.
Much is the same for Austin Peay, who will play Number two seeded Texas in the South region.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention the Memphis Tigers? They are the number one seed in the South region.
But bad news Tiger fans, Memphis is overrated and they will lose in the Sweet Sixteen.
They simply have not been tested enough. Yes they played Tennessee well, but who else on their pathetic conference schedule is impressive? The answer is nobody.
So who will win the big dance? I filled out three brackets, yeah I know that it's weak, but you need to at least fill out two.
In my number one bracket I have Kansas beating UCLA for the championship. Then in bracket number two I have North Carolina winning against UCLA. My last bracket has Tennessee upsetting UCLA for the championship.
The common bond between all three is the Bruins of UCLA. They have the easiest road to the finals if you really break down the teams in their region. I like them because they play solid defense.
March Madness is the greatest sporting event we have in this country. I encourage my readers to watch as much as possible because you never know what can happen, that's why they play the game.
Maybe there is another Villanova or George Mason just waiting to make their push. There are some teams out there with mid-range seeds but they have then talent to compete with the high seeds.
Now it's just a wait and see thing.
