Rick Schibig, Math Lab tutor, said that students can get help in the Math Lab Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Students can get help with any math assignment, no matter what math class they are taking at Vol State, said Schibig.
"Most students stay about an hour and a half when they visit the lab. Some students need quite a bit of help," he continued.
"[The Math Lab] has helped in two ways," said Brian Cothern, also a Math Lab tutor. "I am a worker and helping others sharpens my math skills. Also, the other tutors can help me with the math I am currently taking."
"Early afternoon between noon and three o'clock and at times at night," said Cothern of the busiest times in the Math Lab.
Vol State student Courtney Pirte said she uses the Math Lab weekly.
"[The Math Lab has made] a big difference," said Pirte of the Math Lab's effect on her grades. "They help with concepts since I am taking the class online. It is big help because I don't have to pay a tutor for assistance."
Student Matthew Martinez also said that he uses the Math Lab every week.
"The people here have helped me with problems which gives me better grades," said Martinez.
